Dr. Marc-Antoine AlerteDr. Marc Antoine Alerte is an insightful and compassionate Internist based in Brooklyn, NY.

Originally from Haiti, Dr. Alerte earned his medical degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico.

He completed his pediatric residency at King’s County Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. and his Internal Medicine residency at North General Hospital in Manhattan.

Dr. Alerte also completed his fellowship in Infectious Disease and Epidemiology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine University Hospital in New York.

In 1987, Dr. Alerte was certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Furthermore, Dr. Alerte worked in nursing homes where he acquired experience in Geriatrics for ten years.

He is a member of the Haitian Medical Association as well as the American Medical Association.

Dr. Alerte has been practicing Internal Medicine and Pediatrics as well as Geriatrics Medicine since 1982.

He is fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Haitian-Creole.

Dr. Alerte also served as medical director at various institutions including Paul Robeson Medical Center in Harlem, Central Harlem Medical Group and is currently a Medical Director at Citicare Inc. in Harlem, NY.

Dr. Alerte founded St. John’s Medical Care in 1987.

In addition to his duties as a chief medical practitioner, Dr. Alerte contributes to academia by serving as an associate professor of medicine.

Dr. Alerte’s medical scope is vast and impressive; he manages and treats a variety of disorders including urinary tract infections, sickle cell disease, postpartum depression, diabetes, high blood pressure, and all ailments covering the scope of general pediatrics.

Dr. Alerte also provides annual and pre-sports physicals, and cancer screenings.

Outside of work Dr. Alerte enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and playing soccer.
